Welcome to online enrollment and registration for the Nelson County Schools.
Nelson County Schools uses Infinite Campus for online enrollment and registration.
Enrollment and registration processes differ depending on whether the student is currently enrolled, has siblings already enrolled, or a family is completely new to the district. Find information below for each scenario:

CLICK HERE to register your student through your Infinite Campus Parent Portal if you currently or previously had a student enrolled at NCS. NOTE: Be sure to write down your application number.
Each student must complete registration each year. This process provides families an opportunity to review their information and ensure it is current and accurate.

CLICK HERE to begin the enrollment process if you have never had a student enrolled at NCS. NOTE: Be sure to write down your application number.
- A valid email address is required to begin online registration.
- You will need to visit your assigned school to provide your student's enrollment documentation. Your student will not be enrolled until the documentation has been received.
Required enrollment documents
- Birth certificate
- Proof of residency — Property deed, current lease agreement, water bill, or electric bill. Must be the original bill and from one month prior or from current month.
- Social Security Card — Not required but failure to provide a copy of the SS Card will result in your child not being eligible for the Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarship (KEES) funds for their college education.
- Legal custody papers (if applicable)
- Kentucky Physical Examination Form
- Current Kentucky Immunizations Certificate (Hepatitis A & Meningococcal)
- Proof of eye exam (Ages 3-6 only, due by Jan. 1 of the current school year)
- Proof of dental exam (Ages 5-6 only, due by Jan. 1 of current year.
Online enrollment assistance
Need to request your campus parent portal information or need your parent portal password reset? Contact your child’s school or email icolr@nelson.kyschools.us. Include your full name, date of birth, a phone number, name of student(s), Name of school(s) student(s) attend.
Troubleshooting
- Popup blockers must be turned off for you to complete Online Registration
- Phones/tablets are not recommended for completing Online Registration
- Preferred browsers are Firefox, Safari, and Chrome
- Forgot username/password features only work if you have previously logged on via the portal link and have an Account Security email linked to your account

Application for Out-of-Area Request
This application is for Nelson County School students requesting to attend a school outside of their assigned attendance area. Completed applications may take up to two weeks to process. Please refer to Nelson County Schools Policy 9.11 regarding school attendance areas for more information.

This application is for students who DO NOT reside in Nelson County Schools. Completed applications may take up to two weeks to process. Please refer to Nelson County Schools Policy 9.11 regarding school attendance areas for more information.

Nelson County Schools provides instruction support to children who have long-term medical needs that prevent them from attending the classroom. Students who are unable to attend school for more than five school days due to a medical concern and approved by an appropriate medical professional are eligible for Home-Hospital care.
Potential eligible students: Any student who is unable to attend school for more than 5 school days due to a medical concern as recommended by the aligned medical professional.
Steps:
- School or family identifies that the student will miss or will not be able to attend regular school for more than 5 school days due to a medical concern. Home/Hospital may be an option for the student.
- The family (pages 1-2) and the medical provider (pages 3-4) will complete this application. Please reference page 3 or Section II for which medical provider should complete the Professional Statement.
- Once the form is completed, it can be dropped off or emailed to the student's school or to NCS Central Office.
- Applications will be reviewed by a committee and the Nelson County Schools will contact families to discuss potential home hospital enrollment and next steps.

Yes. Every school year, all returning parents/guardians should register students online through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal

To determine your child's school, which is based on your child’s primary home address, use the Approximate Schools Boundary Map.

Yes. At open house you and your child will be able to meet their teachers, tour the school and receive additional important information.

Yes. There might be additional forms to complete specific to your child’s school. There could also be district forms that require a signature or other type of information that can only be collected via a hard copy.

If your address changes at any time, you will need to provide your child’s school with a proof of residency in the form of a water bill or electric bill. The documentation must be the original bill and current.

Yes. Registration nights are available at each school with additional districtwide assistance offered during the summer. You may also contact your school to make an appointment during the week.

Kindergarten students who were unable to register during kindergarten registration can still register online. You will need to deliver the necessary documents to the assigned school of your child.
