‘Cardinal Follies’ at NCHS

The 2017 edition of “Cardinal Follies” will be presented in the Nelson County High School auditorium this weekend, Nov. 17-19 (Friday and Saturday, at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.). Admission is $10 for adults and $8 for students.

This show will follow the same format as previous productions featuring skits from classic television variety shows along with favorite songs from classic Broadway musicals.  However, this edition includes more solos, duets, and small group numbers than in the past.

Guest hosts are Friday, Jessica Sparrow; Saturday, Dave Coffing; and Sunday, Marc Monroe and David Sparrow. Musical guests will be Carly Davis, Haley Abell, and Monroe and Sparrow.

Guys and DollsSky Masterson, portrayed by junior Robbie Moran, center, is rolling the dice one final time in the musical number “Luck Be a Lady” from the Broadway classic Guys and Dolls.

Mary PoppinsMary Poppins and Bert, portrayed by seniors Madison Faulkner and Joseph Koelsch, explain to Jane and Michael, portrayed by Bloomfield Elementary students Anna Simpson and Tate Milburn, and the rest of the cast how to spell “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.”

Abbott and CostelloAbbott and Costello, freshman Bryce Stafford and Brett Phelps, argue over how to “loaf” at a bakery instead of “loafing” at the house in the classic Abbott and Costello skit “Loafing.”

Don't Rain on My ParadeSenior Kaylee Morris belts out the classic song “Don’t Rain on My Parade” from the musical Funny Girl.
