BES third graders have been working on book towers in reading with Mrs. Carrico. Each time students finish reading a book, they write a summary of it and turn it in to be graded. If their summary is free of errors, they fill out a book tower form which includes the title and genre, as well as a rating assigned by the student. When students complete four book tower forms, they get to eat lunch with Mrs. Carrico and two friends! Students really like book towers because they get rewarded for reading, they enjoy the feeling of accomplishment, and they love spending time with their teacher and friends eating lunch!!
