TEACHER BIO

JIM TRISTA NANCY

Jim has been teaching 9 years at Foster Heights Elementary.  He taught third grade 8 years and  became a Reading Recovery teacher the 2006-2007 school year through our Read to Achieve (RTA) grant.

RTA is an intervention strategy using Harcourt Trophies curriculum for Kindergarten through third grade. This program targets students who are not reading on grade level.  The material enables Jim to teach the same concepts that the regular classroom teacher teaches but at a level that the students can understand.  This gives the students knowledge that will help them in the classroom.
