Following a request from Kentucky Education Commissioner Stephen Pruitt, Nelson Countians joined others from across the state in wearing blue and orange, Friday, Feb. 2. The colors are those of Marshall County High School, which is recovering from a tragic mass shooting on Jan. 23.
“The healing and recovery process will be long, and after the spotlight on this tragedy dims, it is important that the residents of Marshall County know they are still on our minds and in our hearts,” Pruitt said in a press release. “Our state’s residents are resilient and pull together in times of trouble. I will be wearing blue and orange on Friday and hope you will join me.”
Pruitt requested that Kentuckians post photos on social media of those wearing blue and orange with the hashtag #MarshallStrong.
These Nelson County Schools central office staff showed their support for Marshall County on Feb. 2.
