The Nelson County Board of Education honored selected artists for the districtwide visual arts calendar during its April 25 meeting.
The winning work of each selected artist will represent his or her grade level in the August 2017-July 2018 Expect the Best Calendar. The calendar will be distributed throughout the school system.
A panel of three judges considered entries from every school in the system to make their “blind” selections.
Each month, the calendar features a selected piece of artwork from a particular grade, with kindergarten and first grade combined as one unit.
